Desktop provider choice must override a separate Claude OAuth login. The OpenAI Codex fetch path is explicitly forced by the ChatGPT Official runtime marker, and the Anthropic SDK client no longer carries Claude authToken when that OpenAI transport is selected.
Constraint: Users can have both Claude OAuth and ChatGPT OAuth saved.
Rejected: Rely on isClaudeAISubscriber to choose transport | it makes Claude login override the selected ChatGPT provider.
Confidence: high
Scope-risk: moderate
Tested: bun test src/services/api/client.test.ts
Tested: bun test src/services/openaiAuth/fetch.test.ts src/server/__tests__/conversation-service.test.ts --test-name-pattern "ChatGPT Official|buildOpenAICodexFetch"
Tested: git diff --check
Desktop sessions must treat the global Thinking toggle as the source of truth across active CLI sessions, title generation, and provider-compatible request bodies. DeepSeek-style streams can start with reasoning blocks before text, so the WebSocket bridge now keeps the UI in thinking state until text content actually starts.
Constraint: DeepSeek and MiniMax use Anthropic-compatible surfaces but expose thinking behavior through provider-specific request and stream shapes
Rejected: Keep provider-specific disabled-thinking env defaults | stale defaults kept overriding the user's global Thinking setting
Rejected: Treat every non-tool stream block as text | reasoning-only startup blocks created a blank streaming gap before the visible thinking bubble
Confidence: high
Scope-risk: moderate
Directive: Do not change thinking stream state transitions without replaying reasoning-before-text provider events
Tested: bun test src/server/__tests__/ws-memory-events.test.ts
Tested: bun run check:server
Tested: bun run verify
Not-tested: Live DeepSeek provider smoke with real quota
Some Anthropic-compatible providers can return successful responses with
missing or partial usage metadata, especially after falling back to
non-streaming requests. Normalize usage at the provider response boundary so
transcript writes, side queries, and cost tracking continue without treating
token accounting as required response content.
Constraint: Third-party Anthropic-compatible providers do not always return complete usage fields.
Rejected: Add provider-specific handling | this is a protocol compatibility issue across proxies and gateways
Confidence: high
Scope-risk: moderate
Directive: Keep provider response normalization vendor-neutral; do not branch on provider names for missing usage fields.
Tested: bun test src/services/api/emptyUsage.test.ts src/utils/__tests__/thinking.test.ts src/server/__tests__/title-service.test.ts src/server/__tests__/conversations.test.ts
Tested: bun run check:server
Tested: bun run check:persistence-upgrade
Tested: git diff --check
Not-tested: Live Shengsuan Cloud provider replay
Custom Anthropic-compatible providers that authenticate with ANTHROPIC_AUTH_TOKEN must not also inherit the user's local login or keychain API key as x-api-key. The Provider Test path uses direct fetch and already sent only Authorization, while real desktop sessions use the Anthropic SDK and could attach both headers in trusted project cwd sessions.
Constraint: Provider Test uses direct fetch while real sessions use Anthropic SDK headers
Rejected: Disable prompt, git, or context loading | 401 reproduced with a minimal prompt and no tools while the extra x-api-key persisted
Confidence: high
Scope-risk: narrow
Directive: Do not fallback to local Anthropic API keys when ANTHROPIC_AUTH_TOKEN is explicit unless ANTHROPIC_API_KEY or an explicit apiKey is also provided
Tested: bun test src/services/api/client.test.ts
Tested: bun run check:server
Tested: source CLI proxy capture verified Authorization=true and x-api-key=false in a real repository cwd
Tested: live parallel source CLI calls returned ok for PackyCodex2ccCustom and 胜算云
Not-tested: Rebuilt macOS app artifact after this patch
This captures the pending worktree fixes before applying them to the
current local main. The changes tighten IM adapter path and credential
handling, preserve retry behavior for failed desktop notifications, and
make Azure/OpenAI provider auth and stop reasons reflect actual runtime
state.
Constraint: Worktree was detached from an older local main with pending uncommitted fixes
Rejected: Merge the detached HEAD directly | would also replay unrelated stale history
Rejected: Leave notification dedupe as fire-and-forget | failed sends consumed retry keys
Confidence: high
Scope-risk: broad
Directive: Keep adapter absolute-path matching constrained to configured work roots
Tested: git diff --check
Not-tested: full quality gate before local main integration
Resolve the remaining conflict in the Claude API request builder by preserving the contributor's Azure OpenAI response support while keeping main's explicit disabled-thinking handling and effort suppression.
Constraint: PR #21 was conflict-blocked against origin/main and maintainer edits are enabled on the fork branch
Rejected: Rebase the contributor branch | would rewrite a long external contribution history unnecessarily
Confidence: high
Scope-risk: moderate
Directive: Keep disabled-thinking effort suppression when changing provider request mapping
Tested: bun test tests/azureOpenAI.test.ts src/utils/__tests__/thinking.test.ts
Tested: bun run check:server
DeepSeek-compatible Anthropic endpoints reject requests that combine an explicit disabled-thinking block with an effort value. The desktop UI can create that shape when users disable thinking and keep medium effort selected, so the request builder now omits effort whenever it will send explicit disabled thinking.
Constraint: DeepSeek-compatible Anthropic endpoints reject disabled thinking with effort
Rejected: Only patch Desktop provider settings | hidden title and side request paths still share the request builder
Confidence: high
Scope-risk: narrow
Directive: Keep explicit disabled-thinking providers from sending effort unless the upstream contract changes
Tested: UI repro on pre-fix DeepSeek provider path reproduced the 400
Tested: desktop/scripts/e2e-deepseek-thinking-ui-agent-browser.sh
Tested: bun test src/utils/__tests__/thinking.test.ts src/server/__tests__/provider-presets.test.ts src/server/__tests__/title-service.test.ts
Tested: git diff --check
Not-tested: Real DeepSeek API key live call
Desktop users can now disable thinking for new sessions, and Anthropic-compatible providers that opt in receive explicit disabled-thinking requests across main turns, side queries, and AI title generation.
Constraint: DeepSeek/Kimi/GLM Anthropic-compatible endpoints need a non-thinking path without scattering provider-specific logic through the CLI.
Rejected: Per-model if/else branches | centralized provider preset env keeps the native CLI surface smaller and easier to audit.
Confidence: high
Scope-risk: moderate
Tested: bun test src/utils/__tests__/thinking.test.ts src/server/__tests__/title-service.test.ts src/server/__tests__/provider-presets.test.ts src/server/__tests__/conversations.test.ts
