a381bf0412 Make pure white theme complete across desktop surfaces
The pure white appearance option needed to avoid warm-theme leakage while preserving the existing warm classic brand theme. This adds the white theme mode, keeps local browser startup from reusing stale H5 server URLs in dev, and moves visible legacy warm surfaces onto theme tokens.

Constraint: H5 server auth policy, CORS policy, SDK routes, adapter routes, and IM access paths must not change for a visual theme fix
Rejected: Rename the original light theme to pure white | the original theme is a warm classic palette, not a neutral white workspace
Confidence: high
Scope-risk: moderate
Directive: Keep structural white-theme borders neutral; reserve the warm brand color for selected states, primary actions, and small accents

d41d5a87f0 Make H5 access easier to discover in Settings
H5 access is a user-facing desktop sharing entrypoint, so it should not be buried inside the broad General settings surface. Move it into its own Settings tab and make the empty QR state point users at the token generation action before a scan link exists.

Constraint: Preserve the existing H5 store API and token lifecycle while changing only the desktop settings surface.
Rejected: Keep H5 access inside General with a larger visual block | still hides a strong product surface in a catch-all page.
Confidence: high
Scope-risk: narrow
Directive: Keep H5 access as a first-class settings entry unless the navigation model is redesigned holistically.

417e8eaa4f Add token QR workflow for H5 LAN access
H5 LAN access now uses an explicit desktop confirmation, then shows a QR launch URL that carries both the serverUrl and one-time-visible H5 token. Browser startup consumes that token from the QR URL, verifies it before storing, and requires auth for non-loopback H5 endpoints while preserving local desktop bootstrap behavior.

Constraint: LAN H5 exposes desktop capabilities and must be opt-in with a visible warning.
Constraint: QR launch has to preserve routed public URLs, so the link carries serverUrl as well as h5Token.
Rejected: Store the raw token in Zustand | it would make accidental UI diagnostics or snapshots more likely to leak it

1597685d37 Keep H5 access open while token auth is paused
The H5 token gate still caused chat startup and runtime failures after the desktop startup hotfix, so the default server path now stays open for browser and LAN access. Explicit auth remains available through SERVER_AUTH_REQUIRED=1 or --auth-required for deployments that intentionally need it.

Constraint: Current H5 token state is blocking active users from normal chat usage

Rejected: Keep automatic remote-host auth with broader client-side token handling | still leaves existing upgraded clients vulnerable to stale or missing token state

775ddb9c51 fix(desktop): make H5 access reachable from LAN
Packaged desktop builds started the sidecar on loopback only, so phones on the same WiFi could not connect to the H5 URL. The server now binds to LAN interfaces while keeping the desktop control URL on loopback, serves the bundled H5 frontend, and reports a LAN public URL when H5 access is enabled.

Constraint: Packaged Tauri resources place ../dist under Contents/Resources/_up_/dist.
Rejected: Bind the desktop control URL to 0.0.0.0 | desktop clients should keep using loopback for local control.

b693aa53b4 feat: add response language selector in General settings
Expose the CLI's `language` setting in the desktop app's General tab.
Users can now pick from 21 pre-defined languages via a dropdown (value
maps directly to CLI language names such as "chinese", "japanese").
Selecting a language writes it to ~/.claude/settings.json so the CLI
injects the language instruction into every session's system prompt.

2a6c7dc67a Merge token usage view into local main
Integrate the Token usage settings page on top of the newer local main branch, preserving the existing H5 access router surface while adding the activity stats API route.

Constraint: Local main already contained H5 access router changes after the Token usage worktree base.

ace7f7b657 feat: add desktop token usage activity view
Expose local Claude Code CLI transcript usage in Settings so users can inspect recent token consumption and daily activity without leaving the desktop app.

The page uses server-side transcript aggregation for session, message, tool, model-token, and subagent token data. Daily token buckets use assistant message timestamps, and daily session counts use active parent sessions for the same date bucket so resumed sessions and cross-midnight work do not produce token-only days. Cache accounting is bumped to v5 to force recomputation under the corrected daily semantics.

Constraint: Usage data must come from local Claude Code CLI transcripts rather than mock/demo data.
Constraint: Desktop navigation keeps Token usage directly above Diagnostics.
Rejected: Bucket all token usage by session start date | hides resumed-session and cross-midnight consumption from the actual day it was spent.

4865b4f206 Keep H5 settings failures visible without persisting raw tokens
Limit the legacy fallback to missing H5 endpoints, preserve last known H5 settings on real load failures, and move the generated token lifetime into the General settings component so the raw token clears after copy or timeout instead of living in global state.

Constraint: Task 3 remains limited to desktop settings store, UI, and tests
Rejected: Treat every H5 load failure as disabled defaults | hides real outages and overwrites useful last-known state
Rejected: Keep raw tokens in Zustand until manually dismissed | re-exposes secrets after reopening Settings

5c5255b492 fix: make macOS notification delivery verifiable
Desktop notifications were enabled by default and depended on the Tauri notification plugin for both permission state and delivery. On macOS the plugin reports desktop permission as granted and can hide foreground delivery failures, so authorization prompts could appear in the app without a real system notification.

This moves macOS permission and delivery through a native UserNotifications bridge, keeps notifications opt-in by default, and sends a test notification after successful authorization.

Constraint: Tauri notification plugin desktop permission state is always granted.
Constraint: macOS foreground delivery needs explicit native presentation handling.
Rejected: Keep using the plugin with retries | it still cannot report real macOS permission or delivery failures.
Confidence: high
Scope-risk: moderate
Directive: Do not remove the macOS bridge without verifying foreground banners from an installed app bundle.

a43460f28d fix: honor provider auth env strategy
Provider presets now carry an explicit auth strategy so Anthropic-compatible services can choose the right Claude Code environment shape instead of relying on one global variable. The desktop editor exposes the same strategy, keeps settings.json previews in sync, and applies the strategy to connection tests as well as runtime env sync.

Constraint: Third-party Anthropic-compatible providers do not agree on ANTHROPIC_API_KEY versus ANTHROPIC_AUTH_TOKEN.

Rejected: Force all third-party providers onto one env var | breaks providers that require bearer auth, dual variables, or dummy local auth.

Confidence: high

299c50a1e0 fix: hide provider auth env secrets
Provider settings JSON previously masked only values that matched the current form API key. Switching providers or editing stale settings could leave ANTHROPIC_API_KEY visible while ANTHROPIC_AUTH_TOKEN was masked, even though both are sensitive auth env vars.

The settings preview now masks Anthropic API key and auth token fields by key name, restores placeholders from the previous JSON value per field, and strips provider-managed env vars before merging the active provider preview. This keeps historical provider auth values from leaking into the editable JSON surface.

Constraint: Claude Code uses ANTHROPIC_API_KEY for x-api-key auth and ANTHROPIC_AUTH_TOKEN for Bearer auth, so the fix keeps runtime semantics separate from UI redaction.

Rejected: Collapse all providers onto one env var | direct Anthropic and gateway auth paths have different documented headers.

Confidence: high

Scope-risk: narrow

Directive: Treat provider auth env vars as secrets by field name in UI surfaces, not by comparing against the current form API key.

Tested: cd desktop && bun run test -- src/lib/__tests__/providerSettingsJson.test.ts

Tested: cd desktop && bun run lint

Tested: bun run check:desktop

8711ba1560 fix: configure provider context windows
Teach provider presets and saved providers to carry per-model context windows so auto-compact uses provider-specific limits instead of a blanket fallback. The desktop provider form now keeps these limits in an advanced context section and syncs the generated settings preview with model changes.

Constraint: Third-party provider APIs do not consistently expose machine-readable model context windows.
Rejected: Keep a single 100K/200K fallback | modern provider windows vary from 128K to 1M+ and the fallback caused late or early compaction.
Confidence: high

fa5fda24d0 feat: notify users when desktop attention is needed
Add native system notifications as a desktop-wide attention channel for permission prompts and scheduled task completion. The implementation keeps notification presentation owned by the OS, adds a user-facing enable switch with permission handling, and lets scheduled tasks choose desktop notifications without routing that channel through IM adapters.

Constraint: Notifications must use OS-native APIs without custom sound playback.
Constraint: Desktop channel is local-only and must not be sent through IM adapter delivery.
Rejected: Browser Notification API | not reliable inside the packaged Tauri desktop runtime.
Rejected: Treat desktop as an IM channel | would leak a local-only channel into server-side adapter sending.

071975e0cc Improve desktop failure diagnosis with exportable logs
Desktop failures were previously hard to debug from issue reports because server-side and CLI startup details were only partially visible in the UI. This adds a dedicated cc-haha diagnostics store with sanitized structured events, runtime error summaries, a Settings diagnostics view, and an exportable bundle that users can attach to reports.

Constraint: Diagnostic exports must not include chat content, file contents, full environment variables, API keys, bearer tokens, cookies, or OAuth tokens.
Rejected: Export raw server logs | easier to debug but too likely to leak secrets and private workspace data.
Rejected: Keep diagnostics only in transient UI errors | still leaves maintainers unable to diagnose later GitHub issues.

e6378af234 fix: prevent WebSearch save button wrapping
The WebSearch settings footer placed explanatory copy and the save action in one flex row. On narrower dark-mode layouts, the long localized hint could squeeze the button enough for Chinese text to wrap vertically.

Move the action onto its own right-aligned row and give the button a stable minimum width so the layout remains readable across localized settings screens.

Constraint: Settings screen must support Chinese dark-mode copy without vertical button text.

3a6bad0e03 fix: keep WebSearch usable across third-party models
Native Anthropic web search is only reliable for Claude-family model names,
while many configured providers either do not implement the server tool schema
or reject it through proxy layers. This routes WebSearch through a single
resolver, adds Tavily and Brave fallbacks, and exposes provider key setup in
the desktop settings page.

Constraint: Third-party Anthropic-compatible endpoints may reject web_search_20250305 even when the model name is Claude-like
Constraint: Non-Claude models still need a usable WebSearch path when users configure an external search provider
Rejected: Gate native WebSearch by base URL | third-party Claude proxies can support it and official-looking URLs are not the real capability boundary

9ecc178c7a fix: prevent third-party thinking mode mismatches
Desktop users can now disable thinking for new sessions, and Anthropic-compatible providers that opt in receive explicit disabled-thinking requests across main turns, side queries, and AI title generation.

0c58a9f36f Give desktop users a real terminal for command-based setup
Some setup flows end in a shell command instead of a natural-language install path, so Settings now exposes a host PTY terminal backed by portable-pty and xterm. The terminal inherits the user's login-shell environment, forces a UTF-8 locale when needed, and preserves split UTF-8 output so Chinese paths render correctly.

Constraint: Desktop GUI apps do not inherit the user's interactive shell PATH on macOS.
Constraint: Command output may split UTF-8 characters across PTY reads.

773a8a703f Keep desktop chats on the selected provider/model
The desktop model picker now stores a session-scoped provider/model selection instead of relying on the global active provider. That selection is replayed on connect, passed into the CLI startup path, and preserved across turns until the user changes it again.

To make that true end-to-end, the server now restarts the session process when runtime selection changes, injects provider-scoped env for third-party providers, and routes proxy traffic by provider id. The selector UI was also tightened so provider grouping stays visible while the actual model choice remains readable.

Constraint: Different providers can expose the same model id, so chat runtime selection cannot be derived from model id alone
Constraint: A desktop session reuses one CLI subprocess across turns, so runtime changes must restart that process to take effect
Rejected: Keep using Settings active provider as the chat selector | conflates defaults with live session state and breaks overlapping models
Rejected: UI-only runtime switching without server restart | later turns would continue using the old CLI subprocess configuration

48da5ccbfa Reduce Settings complexity by removing the embedded shell surface
The Settings terminal added a full xterm plus Tauri PTY stack for a job
that is better handled by dedicated install and configuration flows. This
change removes the Settings tab, frontend terminal wiring, Tauri terminal
commands, and the terminal-only dependencies so the desktop settings
surface stays narrower and less fragile.

Constraint: The worktree already contains unrelated desktop icon and UI changes, so this commit stages only the terminal-removal slice
Rejected: Keep a hidden or runtime-only terminal stub | it would still preserve the heavy cross-layer maintenance surface
Rejected: Remove only the Settings tab and leave the Tauri PTY backend | that would leave dead code and unused dependencies behind
Confidence: high
Scope-risk: narrow
Reversibility: clean
Directive: If future install workflows need more power, prefer Settings-native actions and runtime refresh over reintroducing a general shell tab

376e255b6b feat: add a bundled desktop setup terminal with safer restart handoff
Settings needed a real shell for plugin, MCP, and skill setup without relying on
a globally installed Claude CLI. Add an xterm.js terminal backed by portable-pty,
wire it into the Tauri desktop runtime, and move shell restart handoff to the
new session before old PTY teardown so the UI is less likely to stall behind
child shutdown.

Constraint: The desktop app must inject the bundled CLI into the shell environment instead of requiring a separate global install
Constraint: Restart teardown cannot block the frontend-facing Tauri command path
Rejected: Keep terminal setup inside installer chat only | that flow cannot replace an interactive shell
Rejected: Wait for old PTY shutdown before adopting the new session | it keeps restart vulnerable to hung child teardown
Confidence: medium
Scope-risk: moderate
Reversibility: clean
Directive: Preserve new-session handoff before old-session cleanup when changing terminal lifecycle or restart logic

8c99efca20 Prevent destructive desktop actions from bypassing confirmation
The desktop settings and sidebar still had deletion flows that either used browser-native confirms or deleted immediately. This change consolidates destructive confirmations behind a shared dialog component, applies it to provider deletion, plugin uninstall, adapter unbind, and sidebar session deletion, and adds regression coverage so delete actions require an explicit second confirmation before mutating state.

Constraint: Other in-progress desktop work in the tree had to stay out of this commit
Constraint: Existing MCP and task confirmations needed to keep their current behavior
Rejected: Leave confirmations embedded per-page with browser dialogs | inconsistent UX and easy to regress
Rejected: Add confirmations only to provider deletion | leaves other destructive desktop flows unsafe

d8a44c0a54 Stop provider model selection from inheriting global Claude settings
The desktop provider flow was still mixing provider-managed state with
`~/.claude/settings.json`, which let unrelated tools leak fields like
`ANTHROPIC_REASONING_MODEL` and `model` back into the active provider path.
This change moves the provider JSON editor onto `~/.claude/cc-haha/settings.json`,
routes provider settings through dedicated `/api/providers/settings` endpoints,
and makes model reads/writes under an active provider use the managed cc-haha
settings instead of the global user settings file.

Constraint: Active provider model selection must be isolated from legacy ~/.claude/settings.json
Rejected: Keep merging provider JSON with settingsApi.getUser() | external tools can reintroduce unrelated model fields into the provider flow

Scope-risk: narrow
Reversibility: clean

e0142b286b Keep built-in provider presets aligned with vendor-supported model IDs
The provider picker had two separate preset definitions and some defaults had
started to drift from the model IDs vendors document for Claude Code /
Anthropic-compatible usage. This change moves built-in presets to one
server-side JSON source, serves that source through the existing presets API,
and makes the desktop settings page consume the API instead of a duplicated
frontend constant. The preset defaults were then corrected against vendor docs
so the built-in values match documented model IDs and casing.

Constraint: Built-in provider defaults must match official vendor Claude Code or Anthropic docs
Rejected: Keep duplicated frontend and backend preset lists | values and casing drifted independently

de736c49f7 Unify plugin capabilities with the desktop management views
Desktop plugin details now route into the shared Skills, Agents, and MCP management surfaces instead of maintaining separate read-only drilldowns. This also extends the desktop/server skill aggregation so plugin-provided skills appear in the shared list, groups MCP entries by source, and preserves detail-view back navigation based on where the user entered the page.

The implementation keeps plugin detail as the high-level capability hub while pushing real inspection into the existing management pages. Disabled plugins no longer expose false navigation paths into shared views, and the agent-browser regression script was expanded to exercise the new end-to-end flows.

Constraint: Shared Agents data only includes enabled plugin agents, so disabled plugins cannot deep-link into agent detail
Rejected: Keep duplicating full Skills/Agents/MCP detail inside Plugin detail | creates divergent UI flows and stale data paths

Scope-risk: moderate
Reversibility: clean

28f36da0fd Reduce extension setup friction inside desktop settings
The desktop app already had solid session streaming, permission, and tool-rendering flows, but extension setup still forced users into manual forms or external shell work. This change adds an Install Center in Settings that reuses the session chat pipeline for natural-language installs, adds installer-specific guidance for plugin and skill URLs, and includes an agent-browser E2E script for real UI validation.

Constraint: Must reuse the existing session/chat execution path instead of introducing a second install runtime
Constraint: Plugin installs need real CLI commands while skill installs may come from published install commands on third-party pages
Rejected: Separate terminal-only install surface | duplicates session UX and weakens permission/tool visibility
Rejected: Pure form-based installer expansion | too much friction for plugin, MCP, and skill onboarding

6c02904e58 Keep slash-command entry surfaces aligned with MCP desktop management
Merged the desktop MCP management work into local main and retained
existing plugin settings affordances while resolving router and settings-tab
conflicts. The resulting flow keeps MCP settings global-only for speed and
uses slash-command cards to route users into concrete MCP or skill targets.

Constraint: local main already had plugin settings and API routes that had to remain available
Rejected: Favor the worktree version wholesale during merge | would have dropped local plugin tab and router support on main

Desktop MCP management now has a working server API, a global-only settings surface,

routing users into the right settings view.

Constraint: Project-scoped MCP browsing in settings was too slow and noisy because it scanned multiple workdirs

375d587ed1 Expose desktop plugin management through first-class APIs
The desktop app could read plugin-produced skills and agents, but it had no
plugin control plane of its own. This adds a dedicated Settings tab backed by
server-side plugin APIs so installed plugins can be inspected, enabled,
disabled, updated, reloaded, and uninstalled from the WebUI.

The implementation also teaches browser-based desktop dev sessions to honor a
custom backend URL, which made it possible to run isolated worktree ports for
real UI automation. During verification, the long-lived desktop server kept a
stale installed-plugin snapshot after external CLI mutations, so cache clearing
now resets that session-level plugin installation state as well.

Constraint: Desktop WebUI needed an isolated backend URL instead of the hard-coded 127.0.0.1:3456 fallback
Constraint: Reuse existing plugin operations and loaders instead of rebuilding plugin lifecycle logic in the desktop layer
Rejected: Fold plugin management into Skills or Adapters | mixed unrelated lifecycles and hid plugin-specific health/actions

86cd2b8d18 Keep desktop UI icon previews aligned with the packaged app icon
The desktop UI was still rendering the old JPG preview asset, so the empty
state, sidebar, and settings pages continued to show the legacy glow-backed
image even after the packaged app icon was corrected. This switches those UI
surfaces to a PNG generated from the current canonical app icon source so the
in-app preview matches the shipped icon treatment.

Constraint: The desktop UI still referenced a legacy JPG asset with the removed outer glow background
Constraint: There are unrelated staged changes in the worktree, so this commit must stay file-scoped
Rejected: Leave the UI on the JPG asset | keeps showing a stale icon treatment after the packaging fix
Rejected: Revert the packaged icon to match the old JPG | would reintroduce the original square-background problem

b7aefc3d01 Make desktop updates less noisy and more truthful
The desktop updater now renders release notes as markdown, avoids fake 0%
progress when the server omits Content-Length, and remembers when the user
has dismissed a specific release prompt so reopening the app does not nag
again for the same version.

Constraint: Existing 0.1.4 clients can receive updater events without total size metadata and users still need a manual update path in About
Rejected: Keep repeating the prompt on every launch | creates avoidable noise after an explicit later decision
Rejected: Global dismiss flag for all future releases | would hide newer versions that should prompt again

febd842557 Keep desktop WebFetch usable on third-party providers
Desktop sessions were failing before the actual fetch because Anthropic's domain preflight can be unreachable on restricted networks, and the next runtime path was missing turndown for HTML-to-Markdown conversion.

This change defaults desktop sessions to skip the preflight unless the user explicitly overrides it, exposes that behavior as a desktop General setting, seeds new settings JSON with the desktop-safe default, and adds regression coverage for both the runtime default and the UI toggle. It also adds the missing turndown dependency so successful fetches can continue through HTML reduction instead of failing at module resolution.

Constraint: Desktop must keep an escape hatch for users who want upstream preflight restored explicitly
Rejected: Force skipWebFetchPreflight globally for every session | would silently change CLI and non-desktop behavior
Rejected: UI-only toggle without runtime default | existing desktop users would still fail until they manually opened settings

76823047f4 Add a switchable dark theme for the desktop workspace
This introduces a persisted light/dark appearance setting, maps the desktop shell onto semantic theme tokens, and reworks the highest-traffic chat/settings surfaces so the new dark mode is usable without regressing the original light theme.

The same pass tightens markdown rendering for chat replies by improving inline code, table overflow handling, and safe external-link behavior so dark-mode content stays legible in real conversations.

Constraint: Preserve the existing light theme while adding a user-selectable dark theme in Settings > General
Constraint: Avoid introducing new dependencies for styling or markdown handling
Rejected: Replacing the light palette with a single dual-purpose palette | would risk broad visual regressions across the existing desktop UI
Rejected: Implementing dark mode only for shell chrome | leaves chat markdown, diffs, and permission flows visually broken

45e4e447fa Enable signed desktop self-updates for release testing
The desktop app already had Tauri updater plumbing, but the
release pipeline was not emitting signed updater artifacts and
the UI exposed only a thin auto-check path. This change restores
a working updater release path, rotates to a new updater public
key, and adds a shared update flow with manual check/install
controls for testing.

Constraint: Original updater private key is unavailable, so a new public key had to be embedded and old installs cannot trust new signatures
Constraint: Must not add new dependencies or require main-branch rollout before validation
Rejected: Keep the old pubkey and skip signing | would leave release builds unable to publish valid updater artifacts
Rejected: Add a manual download fallback flow | user explicitly deferred that work
Confidence: high

98a24f99b4 feat(proxy): add multi-protocol proxy for OpenAI-compatible providers
Add a protocol-translating reverse proxy that allows using OpenAI-compatible

upstream provider, and transforms streaming/non-streaming responses back.

Key features:
- Request transform: Anthropic Messages → OpenAI Chat/Responses
- Response transform: OpenAI → Anthropic (streaming SSE + non-streaming)
- Provider-agnostic reasoning support (reasoning_content, thinking_blocks,
reasoning fields from DeepSeek, OpenAI o-series, GLM-5, Groq, etc.)
- Event queue pattern for correct Anthropic SSE event ordering
- Two-step test: ① connectivity check ② full proxy pipeline validation
