606f3c0dc2 Simplify goal command into an immediate set-clear loop
The previous /goal surface exposed management subcommands that made the CLI and desktop behavior hard to reason about. This keeps the user-facing command close to Claude Code's set/clear interaction while preserving historical transcript hydration and the existing evaluator loop.

Constraint: Desktop must see a live goal event before the model reaches the next tool call.\nRejected: Keep status/pause/resume/complete slash subcommands | requested UX is only set and clear.\nConfidence: high\nScope-risk: moderate\nDirective: Keep /goal user-facing syntax compact; extend internals without expanding the slash picker unless product explicitly asks.\nTested: bun test src/commands/goal/goal.test.tsx src/goals/goalState.test.ts src/goals/goalEvaluator.test.ts src/server/__tests__/ws-memory-events.test.ts src/server/__tests__/conversations.test.ts\nTested: cd desktop && bun run test -- --run src/stores/chatStore.test.ts src/components/chat/MessageList.test.tsx src/pages/ActiveSession.test.tsx src/components/chat/composerUtils.test.ts\nTested: bun run check:server\nTested: cd desktop && bun run lint\nTested: cd desktop && bun run build\nTested: ./bin/claude-haha -p '/goal smoke verify immediate goal output' --output-format stream-json --include-partial-messages --max-turns 1 --no-session-persistence --verbose emitted immediate system.local_command_output before model stream\nTested: ./bin/claude-haha -p '/goal clear' --output-format stream-json --include-partial-messages --max-turns 1 --no-session-persistence --verbose exited with duration_api_ms=0 and No active goal\nNot-tested: Browser click smoke was blocked by Chrome DevTools transport closing and Computer Use cgWindowNotFound on this machine.

291dd3e07d Refine goal UI around memory theme tokens

376fc6de62 Make /goal durable across CLI and desktop sessions
The goal flow needs to drive the agent loop and remain visible after desktop reconnects, so this change treats /goal output as a structured lifecycle signal across CLI, server, and desktop history restoration.

Constraint: The current TypeScript CLI does not share Codex's Rust app-server thread-goal database, so persistence is reconstructed from the existing session transcript.

Rejected: UI-only goal badges | would leave the CLI self-loop unable to recover active or completed goals after process restart.

Rejected: Add a new persisted store | larger migration surface than needed for the existing transcript-backed session model.

Confidence: high

Scope-risk: moderate

Directive: Keep future goal state changes mirrored in transcript-visible local command output or introduce a real migration-backed store.

Tested: bun test src/goals/goalEvaluator.test.ts src/goals/goalState.test.ts

Tested: cd desktop && bun run test -- --run src/stores/chatStore.test.ts src/pages/ActiveSession.test.tsx src/components/chat/MessageList.test.tsx

a00f1882ab fix(desktop): reclaim H5 chat viewport space
The mobile H5 shell was spending one row on the drawer button and another row on session metadata, which left less space for the actual chat on phones. The mobile shell now shares the drawer row with the active session title and metadata, while the session body suppresses its duplicate header on H5.

The mobile composer also restores horizontal breathing room and safe-area bottom padding so the input panel no longer sits flush against the viewport edge.

Constraint: Keep desktop/Tauri layout unchanged and scope the change to browser H5 mobile behavior.
Rejected: Keep the separate mobile menu row | it preserves the exact waste reported in phone screenshots.
Confidence: high
Scope-risk: narrow
Directive: Do not reintroduce a second mobile session title row without checking a phone-sized H5 viewport.

cc9bcb2017 Make H5 chat usable on phone-sized browsers
The browser H5 surface now switches to a phone-oriented shell: the sidebar becomes a closed-by-default drawer, chat stays primary, workspace and terminal panels stay off the mobile chat surface, composer controls use larger touch targets, and mobile menus avoid desktop-only widths and keyboard hints. Desktop and Tauri sidebar behavior remain on the existing store-driven path.

Constraint: H5 is personal/team browser access layered on the existing desktop web UI, so the normal desktop app must keep its current layout behavior.

Rejected: Share the global sidebarOpen default for mobile first paint | it can flash the drawer open before effects run on a phone.

Confidence: high

Scope-risk: moderate

Directive: Keep mobile-only layout branching behind useMobileViewport() && !isTauriRuntime() unless a future task explicitly redesigns the native desktop shell.

09209ecefb fix: preserve repository context after session launch
Empty ActiveSession launch controls now use both loaded chat messages and persisted session messageCount, so historical sessions do not briefly fall back into new-session launch mode while message history is still loading. Regression coverage also locks the first-message branch launch flows for direct checkout and isolated worktree sessions.

Constraint: Historical session lists already know messageCount before chat history finishes loading
Rejected: Wait for history fetch before rendering composer controls | it keeps the wrong new-session affordance visible during reopen
Confidence: high
Scope-risk: narrow
Directive: Branch/worktree launch controls are only for messageCount-zero sessions; reopened history must render repository context chips

35f9f0d0f8 feat: make project terminals open where users work
Desktop terminal access should behave like an IDE: active project sessions open a bottom panel in the session working directory while keeping a full terminal tab available for dedicated use. The panel has constrained resizing and cleanup so session tab state remains isolated, and terminal guidance points users to the bundled claude-haha command for extension setup.

Constraint: Desktop bundles the user-facing CLI as claude-haha while claude-sidecar remains internal
Rejected: Always opening a standalone terminal tab | loses the current project context and diverges from common IDE behavior
Rejected: Exposing claude-sidecar in terminal guidance | it is an internal launcher, not the supportable user command

3a6f45d173 feat: make current turn changes reviewable and undoable
Workspace inspection was visible only as a side panel, while file restore still lived behind the older per-message rewind affordance. This adds a chat-flow change card for the completed turn, keeps undo routed through checkpoint rewind, and tightens the workspace split layout so narrow and fullscreen windows keep both chat and file preview usable.

Constraint: Current session file changes must work for non-Git directories when transcript tool edits are available
Constraint: Workspace preview must remain right-docked without horizontal overflow across narrow and wide desktop viewports
Rejected: Keep only hover rewind | users could not clearly see what the current turn changed before undoing it
Rejected: Use Git as the only changed-file source | many desktop sessions run in temporary or non-Git directories
Confidence: high
Scope-risk: moderate
Directive: Keep checkpoint rewind as the source of truth for undo semantics; workspace diffs are a preview surface, not the restore authority

b811ffb8f1 feat: make session workspace changes inspectable
Expose a workspace inspector for desktop sessions so users can browse the active project, preview files, inspect session-derived changes, and review diffs even when the work directory is not a git repository.

Constraint: The workspace view must work for temporary and non-git project directories.
Rejected: Rely only on git status | non-git sessions would lose the changed-files surface.

6d40b2befa fix: Keep desktop chats on selected provider runtimes
Desktop sessions can switch provider and model while a CLI subprocess is already alive, so the server now serializes runtime restarts and marks provider-managed launches to prevent stale settings env from overriding the selected provider. Provider settings also write API key env consistently and clear stale managed keys before syncing.

This includes the related desktop/docs brand asset refresh and keeps the desktop locale default in Chinese, with tests updated to match the current provider semantics.

Constraint: Session-scoped model selection must win over cc-haha/settings.json and inherited ANTHROPIC_* values.
Rejected: Store the selected model as a global provider activeModel | chat runtime selection is per session.
Confidence: high
Scope-risk: moderate
Directive: Do not remove CLAUDE_CODE_PROVIDER_MANAGED_BY_HOST without validating Desktop provider switching against stale settings env.

86cd2b8d18 Keep desktop UI icon previews aligned with the packaged app icon
The desktop UI was still rendering the old JPG preview asset, so the empty
state, sidebar, and settings pages continued to show the legacy glow-backed
image even after the packaged app icon was corrected. This switches those UI
surfaces to a PNG generated from the current canonical app icon source so the
in-app preview matches the shipped icon treatment.

Constraint: The desktop UI still referenced a legacy JPG asset with the removed outer glow background
Constraint: There are unrelated staged changes in the worktree, so this commit must stay file-scoped
Rejected: Leave the UI on the JPG asset | keeps showing a stale icon treatment after the packaging fix
Rejected: Revert the packaged icon to match the old JPG | would reintroduce the original square-background problem

921a352517 Integrate desktop skill discovery and empty-session composer fixes into main
This merges the detached-worktree desktop fixes back into main, preserving the
existing Computer Use modal changes on main while bringing over the project
skill discovery fallback, skills settings cwd-awareness, sidebar tab cleanup,
and the empty-session hero composer styling.

Constraint: Main already carried newer desktop session UI changes that had to be preserved during merge resolution
Rejected: Abort the merge and cherry-pick individual files | unnecessary once the only conflict was isolated to ActiveSession.tsx
Confidence: high

261a85ab76 Restore desktop project-skill discovery and align empty-session composer
The desktop app previously lost project-level skills in two places: the
settings browser only queried user skills, and the slash-command picker for a
fresh session depended on CLI init state that does not exist before the first
turn. This change makes the skills APIs cwd-aware, falls back to project skill
loading before CLI init, syncs sidebar session deletion with open tabs, and
aligns the empty-session composer styling so the pre-message session UI stays
consistent.

Constraint: Fresh desktop sessions need slash-command discovery before the CLI websocket emits system/init
Constraint: Only repository code should be committed; build artifacts, installs, and /tmp smoke fixtures stay out of git
Rejected: Rebuild slash-command listings from full getCommands() in the sessions API | introduced auth-gated command dependencies unrelated to local skill discovery
Rejected: Unify EmptySession and ChatInput into one full component now | higher regression risk for normal chat interactions than a visual-only hero variant
Confidence: high
Scope-risk: moderate
Reversibility: clean
Directive: Keep pre-message skill discovery keyed to session workDir so project-level .claude/skills remain visible before the first turn

5cd6b5d07b Prevent desktop Computer Use from stalling on missing approvals and unstable text input
Desktop sessions were missing a visible request_access approval path and could
mis-detect their own app window as an unapproved frontmost target, which caused
Computer Use clicks to fail even after opening the intended app. On macOS, text
entry was also split across inconsistent clipboard and keystroke paths, making
Electron inputs unreliable for Chinese and short strings.

This change adds a desktop approval bridge over the existing session websocket,
renders a dedicated desktop approval modal, threads the real desktop bundle id
into the Computer Use executor, and switches macOS clipboard typing onto the
native pasteboard plus system paste shortcut path. It also makes tool error
results expandable in the desktop chat UI so frontmost-gate failures are fully
visible during debugging.

Constraint: Desktop sessions run the CLI over the SDK websocket path, so Ink tool JSX dialogs are not visible there
Constraint: macOS IME and Electron text inputs are unreliable with pyautogui.write and generic hotkey synthesis
Rejected: Reuse CLI setToolJSX dialogs in desktop mode | no transport for mid-call Ink UI over the SDK bridge
Rejected: Keep shell pbcopy/pbpaste for clipboard typing | inconsistent with NSPasteboard path and less reliable for Chinese text
Confidence: medium
Scope-risk: moderate

76823047f4 Add a switchable dark theme for the desktop workspace
This introduces a persisted light/dark appearance setting, maps the desktop shell onto semantic theme tokens, and reworks the highest-traffic chat/settings surfaces so the new dark mode is usable without regressing the original light theme.

The same pass tightens markdown rendering for chat replies by improving inline code, table overflow handling, and safe external-link behavior so dark-mode content stays legible in real conversations.

Constraint: Preserve the existing light theme while adding a user-selectable dark theme in Settings > General
Constraint: Avoid introducing new dependencies for styling or markdown handling
Rejected: Replacing the light palette with a single dual-purpose palette | would risk broad visual regressions across the existing desktop UI
Rejected: Implementing dark mode only for shell chrome | leaves chat markdown, diffs, and permission flows visually broken
Confidence: high
Scope-risk: moderate

23b31b397a Prevent local team sessions from dropping members and stalling adapters
This bundles the pending desktop/server team-session fixes with the local adapter recovery changes already in the worktree. The team path now keeps teammate membership stable under concurrent spawns, surfaces real teammate identities in the desktop UI, and allows direct interaction with member transcripts. The adapter changes recover automatically when stale thinking signatures invalidate an existing session.

Constraint: Team config writes can happen concurrently while multiple reviewers spawn in parallel

Constraint: Desktop member views must follow mailbox/transcript semantics rather than hijacking teammate runtime sessions

Rejected: Keep relying on config.json alone for member discovery | in-process teammates can be lost after concurrent writes

Rejected: Open teammate sessionIds as normal desktop sessions | would attach a second CLI instead of the running teammate

635a966c3e fix(desktop): unblock rollout with reliable session and IM flows
This folds together the desktop-side fixes needed before broader rollout.
Session resume no longer deadlocks waiting on init, Mermaid and inline image
output render inside chat, task and sub-agent state stay visible during
execution, local build/release paths are safer, and Feishu/Telegram now expose
lightweight mobile commands (/help, /status, /clear) without adding a new
adapter-specific protocol.

Constraint: Desktop releases must publish updater artifacts from non-draft GitHub releases
Constraint: IM commands need short, phone-friendly responses and low operational complexity
Rejected: Add a dedicated IM command API surface | re-used existing slash commands and session/task REST endpoints to keep adapters thin

993b96cd39 Stabilize the desktop transcript so long agent sessions stay readable
The desktop app now keeps the composer stable while turns are active,
reduces low-signal tool noise in the transcript, restores project context
under the composer after session creation, and relies on the CLI's own
permission requests instead of injecting broader desktop-side Bash asks.

This also brings in the supporting desktop app source tree and the server
routes/session metadata needed for git info, filesystem browsing, session
resume, slash commands, and SDK-backed permission bridging so the UI can
operate as a coherent feature instead of a partial patch.

Constraint: Desktop transcript needs to stay usable during long multi-tool sessions without hiding file-change diffs
Constraint: Permission prompts must mirror CLI behavior closely enough that read-only commands do not get desktop-only prompts
Rejected: Keep rendering Read/Bash bodies inline | too noisy and unlike the intended transcript model
Rejected: Commit only the touched desktop files | would leave the newly introduced desktop app incomplete in git history
